Fun Family Portraits in San Tan Valley, Gilbert, Chander Arizona

.
I feel like I'm so behind on blogging.  I think, really, it's more that I've done so much and blogged so little.  But, does that mean I'm behind?  Nah.  I don't blog every session I shoot.  It depends on how much down-time I have in between and lately, that's been very little.  I've been having so much fun!  I photographed the birth of the baby in the photo below; I can't believe it's been almost 6 months already!  If appearance is any indication, mom and dad are handling parenthood fantastically!

Studio Portraits in AZ - New Backgrounds = Yay!

.
One of my goals this year is to do more studio work.  So, to motivate myself, I went out today and bought a few new backgrounds.  My daughter (who absolutely abhors having her photo taken) actually sat for me for a few minutes so I could try one out.  I think she looks beautiful.  She, of course, does not agree.  Oooh, teens.  What are ya gonna do with 'em?

Lisa and Travis are Getting Married! Engagement Portraits in San Tan Valley, Queen Creek, Gold Canyon AZ

There is nothing more fun than spending an afternoon with a couple in love.  These two absolutely adore each other; you can see it in their eyes, and in the way they interact.  It's obvious Lisa and Travis would do anything for each other.  I can't wait to photograph their wedding in April!

Custom Portraits

.
I've said it before, I'll say it again:  I'm just not a fan of actions.  I prefer to do things "by hand," so to speak.  So, when I got the opportunity to learn from a genius photographer who doesn't use actions, I was sooo o o o o excited!  Here are some photos I made over the last few days:

Portraits in the Desert

.
You can catch me whining about missing the beautiful landscapes of Virginia on any given day, and complaining about the Brown Dirt of Arizona.  Then there are days when the desert looks pretty to me, through my lens.  I'm grateful for those days.

Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII Test

.
My greatly anticipated new lens arrived Monday and I was too sick with a nasty cold to even test it out.  Weighing in at a hefty 3.4 pounds, I was too weak and tired to lift it.  Just kidding.  It is that heavy, though, and when put on my D700 (with battery grip), it's like toting a small child.  Only more fun!  Okay, again, kidding!  Anyway, I met a friend at the park today and whist all the chitlins were running about and such, I shot a few photos to see the new lens in action.  I have only one word for it:  LOVE!

Children's Portraits in San Tan Valley, Queen Creek Arizona

I just love these kids!  I feel like their family's personal photographer since they hire me for just about everything they need photographically.  I even photographed the birth of little Dillon (who's six months old already!).  Oh how time flies.  And oh how lucky I feel to know this family.  Love you guys!  Smooch!
