I just found this photo taken in VA on our spare camera.  Todd made it, and I love it.  It's bright and whimsical and makes me think of Virginia.  This must hang on our wall very soon!

After the Storm

The President has declared Arizona is in a state of emergency from the crazy storms we had last week.  Our area was hit with a lot of rain and strong winds (we lost a tree), but we're in good shape.  I guess other areas got it a lot worse. 

When the skies started to clear Saturday, Todd and I went out for a quick drive to grab a few shots of the dramatic clouds (and I sold one the same day!).  Here a couple; enjoy!

I Heart Dragonflies

One of my favorite things about living in Japan was that there were dragonflies in great abundance. I love love love dragonflies! Yesterday Todd yelled for me to come out back--there was a beautiful dragonfly on our wall. I yelled, "Nobody move!" and ran for the camera. Todd and I both took several shots. Here are few....

Rain like Diamonds

Being from Virginia, where it rains alot (hence the lush greenery and flowers everywhere), I have a love/hate relationship with the arid desert clime of Arizona. On one hand, I enjoy not having to drive frequently in rain, or carry and umbrella or don a raincoat. On the other hand, I miss the smell of rain, the feel of the charged air, the storm clouds, the thunder, lightning, the excitement of a good storm.


I woke this morning to raindrops spread like diamonds across the front lawn. And diamonds are a girl's best friend ;o)

Bug Shells Are Creepy

But cool. Took this yesterday while perusing the nearby arboretum (where I also plan on taking my photograpy club soon). And of course, under the little creepy cicada shell are a couple pics of plants (my obsession).

Cute As a Bee's Knees

I took this earlier this summer with my macro lens, but never got around to putting it up anywhere. I love the color. Bees are fun, except when they get camera shy and chase you!
